From Hamilton County Emergency Mgmt:
A sweep of the Chattanooga State main campus has been conducted by local law authorities. That’s according to Amy Maxwell with Hamilton County Emergency Management who just concluded a press conference with local media.
Maxwell says students, faculty and staff will remain sheltered in place on campus until the entire site is deemed completely safe. Personnel from the Chattanooga Fire Department are on site investigating reports of a gas leak.
Chattanooga police say the threat came in by a phone call as a possible kidnapping with weapons involved but so far they say nothing has been found.
Emergency Medical Services are on the campus. Authorities say two people have been treated for anxiety but no injuries have been reported.

UTC Community:
There is no threat to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) community or the UTC campus at this time.
The Department of Public Safety was immediately notified of an alleged threat to the Chattanooga State Community College (CSCC) main campus. The CSCC main campus is currently on lockdown; individuals have been asked to shelter in place.
UTC is actively monitoring the situation. Should any concerns arise, a UTC-ALERT will be sent.

Chattanooga State Community College is on lockdown until further notice. The alert went out via cellphone just before 10am Thursday morning.
Calls to campus confirmed the lockdown and a follow up message later appeared on Chattanooga State’s Facebook page.
