Opinion: Rep. Lauren Boebert Faces Hypocrisy Challenges on Her Conservative Values after Caught on Tape

CHATTANOOGA, TN (mocsnews.com)- Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert is a republican who recently got kicked out of a Denver viewing of “Beetlejuice” theatre show for vaping, taking selfies during the show, and generally causing a disturbance in the audience.

These types of behaviors will usually get anyone kicked out, but it’s important to delve into the bigger picture here.

What really matters is that she is not practicing what she preaches. She defines herself as a morally upright religious conservative. However, videos are circulating online of her even doing much worse.

Vaping is not even the worst part of the hypocrisy she is emitting; it’s the fact that she was also caught on video having a groping session with her date surrounded by multiple people in a public setting, according to the New York Post. This date not only enabling her during the incident, but also owns a bar where he hosted a drag show; another incident of Boebert showcasing her hypocrisy.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a TikTok post said,

“I can’t go out to lunch in Florida in my free time, not doing anything, just eating outside and its wall-to-wall fox news coverage, and then you have a member of congress engaging in sexually lewd acts in a public theatre in they (Boebert) got nothing to say, I danced to phoenix once in college and it was all over the place.”

This is not the conservative values that she preaches and denied the allegations through social media.

Conservative beliefs are based off Christian values and committing these lewd acts violates everything she and the Republican party stand for. Running again for office as a Republican candidate will likely not be in her favor in the next election.

However, Sept 15^th Boebert created a Facebook post rescinding her denial and instead said,

“Regardless of my belief, it’s clear now that was not accurate; it was not my or my campaign’s intention to mislead, but we do understand the nature of how this looks. We know we will have to work to earn your trust back and it may not happen overnight, but we will do it.”

Her apology centered around her vaping and rudeness during the show, but she did not mention anything about groping her date.

The lesson to be learned is that if you’re going to represent a party that holds its Christian values as a core reason for legislation then abiding by those values are of the upmost importance. Failing in this endeavor simply shows the public that you can’t be trusted and will be painted as an opportunist; only hopping on bandwagons and manipulating voters with a popular sentiment rather than embodying conservative principles.
