CHATTANOOGA, TENN (mocsnews.com) – Two Sherriff’s deputies of Los Angeles County are in critical condition after being ambushed in their patrol car. The two deputies were sitting in their patrol next to Metro rail station and were able to call in for help. Both deputies were new to the police force and had graduated only 14 months ago.
The Sheriff of the LA County Police Department said, “It pisses me off. It dismays me at the same time
A video was released from the police department of the shooting. It shows the gunman fire through the passenger window of the car.
One deputy is a 31-year-old female and the other a 24-year-old male. They both underwent surgery late Saturday night and were both in critical condition as of yesterday.
The Los Angeles Police Department stated, “The gunman walked up on the deputies and opened fire without warning or provocation.” With a generic idea of what the suspect looks like, the search is continued for the suspect. The incident sparked attention from presidential candidate Joe Biden who said, “This cold-blooded shooting is an unconscionable and the perpetrator must be brought to justice.”
The hospital where the deputies were taken were greeted and crowded by protestors yelling “we hope they die” referring to the two deputies. Protestors continued by blocking the emergency room entrance while provoking the offices stationed outside.
Bishop Juan Mendez with Churches in Action made a statement about the protestors saying, “Unacceptable behavior. The hospital should be sanctuary, we should leave hospitals alone.”
Authorities are offering a $100,000 reward for anyone that can provide information or leads on where the suspect is leading to arrest. The suspect was last seen in a black four-door sedan.
