UTC Police are investigating a report of stalking received this afternoon, Friday, September 6 involving repeated incidents of unwanted contact by phone, electronically and in person over the past week. The incidents involve a person who is known to the victim.

Stalking (Stranger and Non-Stranger) and Domestic Violence Safety Tips
- Treat all threats, direct and indirect, as legitimate and inform law enforcement immediately to ensure documentation of the incident.
- If you are concerned about your safety, contact UTCPD or request a Safety Escort through the Safe Ride program.
- Collect and save any evidence such as text messages, voicemail messages, Facebook communications and emails.
- Consider obtaining an order of protection against the stalker; contact UTC’s Survivor Advocacy Services at 423-425-5648 for help.
- Trust your instincts. If you feel unsafe, ask for help.
- Safety planning is available through Survivor Advocacy Services, or go to loveisrespect.org for online resources. Safety plans can include safety at home, work and school.
- In case of an emergency, call UTCPD.
