Chattanooga Football fell to Mercer with a 30-10 final on the road last Saturday.
The Mocs started ahead in the second quarter with a 44-yard field goal from kicker Victor Ulmo. However, the lead would not last long, as Mercer got two touchdowns before the half taking the lead at 13-3.
Mercer scored 23 unanswered points by the fourth quarter until the Mocs offense finally responded. Cole Copeland made a 22-yard pass to Bailey Lenior to get the Mocs five yards from the in-zone and Darrel Bridges rushed the ball across the line the next play. With the extra point good, the Mocs cut Mercer’s lead at 23-10.
Mocs defense contained the Bears’ lead until Mercer running back, Tee Mitchell, scored with three minutes left in the game to bring the Mercer to their final score to 30.
