Viewer Numbers Skyrocket in Latest Presidential Debate

CHATTANOOGA (mocsnews.com), The latest United States Presidential Debate grabbed the attention of many more millions of viewers than the previous June debate. Around 67 million people tuned in to watch former President Trump and Democratic Nominee, Kamala Harris, debate.

Due to Biden exiting the 2024 Presidential Race after his debate in June, the anticipation was built up for Harris’ debut.

According to an  AP Newsroom article, “The debate was run by ABC News but shown on 17 different networks. The Trump-Biden debate in June was seen by 51.3 million people.”

This encounter was long awaited due to the potential fact it could be the only time these two face off before the November election.

“Harris and Trump’s highly anticipated matchup marked the first time the two had met, and could be the only time they go head to head on the debate stage,” CBS said.

Post debate, the Harris administration has been open about their receptive idea to a second debate with President Trump.

According to Politico, “The Harris campaign announced after Tuesday’s showdown that the vice president is ready for a second debate…Trump previously called for three debates with Harris, but said on Wednesday that he’d be “less inclined to” because he “had a great night.”

Polls immediately began after the debate concluded to see how the millions of viewers felt about what they had watched. Many polls showed Harris with a heavy win over the former President.

“Debate watchers said, 63% to 37%, that Harris turned in a better performance onstage in Philadelphia,” CNN said.
