Rescue teams worked tirelessly to save people in the hardest-hit counties of Galati and Vaslui. The bodies of three older women and one man were found in different places, according to the authorities. The Department for Emergency Situations released video footage of rescuers carrying the individuals to safety, using lifeboats, and evacuating citizens through murky waters. Galati faced some of the most significant flood damage, affecting 5,000 households. A Black Hawk helicopter was deployed to aid search and rescue efforts.

The storms impacted 19 places across eight counties, with strong winds toppling trees, damaging cars, and blocking roads. Authorities issued text message alerts warning residents of severe weather, while emergency teams worked to pump water out of homes.
By Saturday afternoon, over 250 people had been evacuated, with 700 interior ministry personnel assisting in affected areas. Romanian Environment Minister Mircea Fechet said some regions received more than 160 liters (42 gallons) of rain per square meter, a rare event in the area.
