UTC Police are assisting the Chattanooga Police Department in the investigation of a reported attempted robbery. The incident was reported at 9:10 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 28 by a student and occurred outside a church building in the 600 block of McCallie Avenue. The suspect is described as a 40- to 50-year-old African-American male with facial hair, wearing a gray or back beanie cap, gray shirt and blue jeans. The victim was able to use pepper spray on the suspect and flee without injury. No weapon was displayed by the suspect.
