Over a thousand people gathered together at Coolidge Park this past Saturday to participate in a rally against gun violence, as part of the March for our Lives movement, an effort for local politicians to pursue gun legislation and to create stricter regulations for acquiring firearms.
“We had young kids, students, families, teachers, legislators, all sorts of people,” says Brooke Smith, a UTC student attending the rally. “We marched across [Walnut Street] bridge all the way to the [Chattanooga State Office] building… and we told them what we wanted. We wanted more gun policies and more legislations to be made.”
