Texas Shooting Claims 26 Lives, Injures 20 More

Tragedy strikes in Texas.

Devin Patrick Kelley, 26, opened fire on the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas. 26 people were killed and 20 more were injured.

As Kelley fled the scene, local resident Stephen Willeford confronted him in the parking lot and shot him twice. Shortly after the encounter, Kelley fled the scene. Willeford then flagged down a passing by truck, driven by Johnnie Langendorff, and the two followed Kelley in a high speed chase. Kelley lost control of his vehicle and crashed.

When the police arrived they discovered Kelley had committed suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The shooting in Sutherland Springs was the fifth deadliest shooting in United States history, coming only 35 days after the most deadly shooting in United States history, which occurred in Las Vegas, Nevada at the beginning of October.
